About FBC<\/h3>\n

The purpose of the BIC is to aid Finnish researchers, entrepreneurs and SMEs (small- and medium-sized enterprises) to gain access to CERN related technology developments. The Finnish Business Incubation Centre of CERN Technologies is part of the network of BICs involved in utilizing technological developments at CERN.\u00a0Network of actors (CERN experts, universities, VCs, StartupSauna, Demola, industry actors etc)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

About HIP<\/h3>\n

The Helsinki Institute of Physics is a physics research institute that is operated jointly by the University of Helsinki, Aalto University, the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, the Lappeenranta University of Technology, and the Tampere University of Technology. The mandate of the institute is to carry out and facilitate research in basic and applied physics and technology development at international accelerator laboratories. The institute is responsible for the Finnish research collaboration with CERN. Also, the institute coordinates the Finnish contribution to the FAIR laboratory (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) currently under construction in Darmstadt, Germany.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Near Geneva, is the world\u2019s largest laboratory for particle physics. It was the birthplace of the World Wide Web in 1990 and is home to the Large Hadron Collider where Higgs\u2019 particle was found in 2012. CERN celebrated its 60 year birthday in 2014 signifying its extensive and long-lasting technology development history.<\/p>\n

CERN makes the technical knowledge, skills and expertise that it has gained through its extensive experience in particle accelerators and detectors, available to companies, research institutes and entrepreneurs through an active support to Knowledge Transfer activities.
