Main activities

The main activities in the Detector Laboratory are related to HIP and UH research projects participating in large international particle and nuclear physics experiments:

• CERN CMS Tracker
• CERN CMS MTD-ETL (MIP Timing Detector – End-cap Timing Layer)
• CERN CMS-TOTEM PPS (Precision Proton Spectrometer)
• CERN CMS-TOTEM T2 telescope
• FAIR NuSTAR Super-FRS (Nuclear Structure, Astrophysics and Reactions / Superconducting Fragment Separator)

Detector Laboratory organizes courses of instrumentation:

• Masters Programme for Particle Physics and Astrophysical Sciences (PARAS)
