The next Kumpula Physics Colloquium in the spring series will take place on Friday (09.04.2021) at 14:15 on the University Zoom meeting.

Our speaker is Karl Ziemelis, who is Physical Sciences Editor of Nature. The title of his talk is Writing for Impact. Karl will talk about what makes a great paper and give us some tricks on writing for high-impact journals. The talk will last about 30 minutes, after which there will be time for questions.

Cosmic-ray tomography for scanning of trucks and shipping containers within the project SilentBorder

As a member of the H2020 funded SilentBorder project, the institute will contribute to the development of a tomographic scanning technology for trucks and sea containers based on the natural flux of highly energetic atmospheric muons, produced as a result of the interaction of cosmic radiation with the air molecules.
