In our latest HIP Blog Henning Kirschenmann writes about the Code of the Universe outdoor exhibition which will travel Finland between 5 May and 16 July and will visit four cities: Tampere, Jyväskylä, Lahti, and Helsinki. The exhibition is connected to the FCC Week conference taking place in Helsinki between 8 and 12 June.

“The influence of low-energy noble gas ion implantation on few-layer MoS2”

Abstract: Few-layer MoS2 was implanted with low energy noble gas ions to study defect creation. Characterization was done using Raman spectroscopy and HAADF-STEM. Results indicate the formation of defects such as nanopores, line defects, and intercalated noble gas ions.

Inter-Country Travel Grant

Invite U.S. Fulbright scholars, teachers, professionals and advanced PhD students to Finland. Fulbrighters need to be on their Fulbright grant period during the Inter-Country visit (a maximum of 1-week visit).

The Committee for public information (TJNK) / Public information grants

The Committee for Public Information (TJNK) awards public information grants to individuals or members of working groups (but not to associations or societies) to implement work plans that contribute to public information, mainly as a form of compensation for creative work.

Grants are not awarded for scientific research (including doctoral dissertations/PhD theses), fiction books, translations and textbooks. Grants for translations are awarded by other organisations such as FILI, which is part of the Finnish Literature Society.

The application service opens on 1 May and closes at 4pm on the last working day of May.

Tiedonjulkistamisen neuvottelukunta (TJNK) myöntää tiedonjulkistamisen kohdeapurahoja yksityisille henkilöille tai työryhmien jäsenille (ei yhteisöille tai yhdistyksille) tiedonjulkistamista palvelevan työsuunnitelman toteuttamiseen.

Tiedonjulkistamisen apurahoilla ei tueta kaunokirjallisia hankkeita, käännöksiä, oppikirjoja tai tieteellistä tutkimusta (väitöskirjat mukaan lukien). Käännöstukia myöntää mm. Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seuran yhteydessä toimiva FILI.
