“Trajectory-dependent electronic stopping of potassium in tungsten from real-time TDDFT and implications for ion ranges”
Abstract: Potassium implantation has been reported to improve the high-temperature stability of tungsten for fusion applications. This work uses real-time TDDFT to calculate trajectory-dependent electronic stopping of potassium in tungsten and applies the results to ion-range simulations. A clear trajectory dependence is observed, but a discrepancy remains along a certain crystallographic channel. Finally, a promising future approach is presented to solve the discrepancy.
